Never Trained Before? Then this is the perfect place for you.

We have been operating for more than 17 years and specialize in teaching Gracie Jiu-Jitsu to beginners. We instill the importance of real self defense in our new students and focus their training to protect themselves, on the sometimes, mean streets of the City. At one time or another, all of our staff and student body were in the same position you are in right now, interested in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and reading our web site. We know how you feel and that you might even be nervous about starting the 30 day FREE membership. But, we know how to make your experience the best one possible, and we GUARANTEE it! You will not be thrown to the wolves and made to fight for your life. You will learn as all of us have, with a curriculum that produces great results very quickly, in the safest and friendliest environment you could hope for. But first, you've got to send us your information so we can get you started on your first 30 days at NO CHARGE!

Now that everyone seems to teach MMA and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, what makes Relson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu New York so unique?

Michael Casey was a pioneer "back in the day" when he introduced the Bronx community to Gracie Jiu-Jitsu over 17 years ago (1994), so we are not a martial arts school that has decided to slap the words, MMA or Gracie Jiu-Jitsu on our signs just to take advantage of the customer. He started teaching close friends in the basement of his house as well as his Karate school, until he opened the very first Officially recognized Gracie Jiu-Jitsu school in the Bronx in 1999.

Are you worried that you can't learn Gracie Jiu-Jitsu?

Well, we're not! In fact, we are so confident in our approach, curriculum and student body, that if it doesn't work for you, we'll give you your money back! That's right, a 100% refund if we can't teach you Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. Now, how can you go wrong?

Absolutely No Contracts!

You read that correctly. We can't predict the future and we don't expect you to be able to. How could you possibly be expected to join any school with a two year or longer contract? None of us knows where life will take us down the road, so there is no need to commit to lengthy contracts - so you can cancel any time you like. We are certain that you will stay with us because you WANT to, and not because we tricked you and locked you in.

And, there are NO ridiculous start up costs! No Hidden Fees!

Mark Sanchez

Assistant Principal & Teacher
"I've been practicing Shotokan Karate for the last 40 years and that is my first love, but as an Assistant Principal and teacher in NYC I find that my training in Karate is too extreme for your typical spoiled, foul mouthed, 240 lb., and sometimes violent student. No matter how much the students outweighs you, no matter how violent the child is, if I were to take him out by using my experience in Karate the court would always view the student as a minor, and I as the aggressor. Hence, I would have to defend myself in the court system while the student is home relaxing. I'm not high ranking at all in BJJ, but I am happy to say that on many occassions I was able to use various choke holds on some of these knuckle heads and have them comply with my requests or else. It's amazing how even the most violent students listen to your every word when the proper amount of pressusre is applied on the neck, throat, elbow, etc. BJJ is an excellent addition to your stand up striking art and it helps you be a better all around martial artist.

Mike Casey doesn't try to convert you to BJJ only, since he also has experience in Judo and Shotokan Karate, but he instructs you at your pace to fulfill your need. This is a great school to be in if you want to be the best martial artist you can be."

"I recommend the Gracie Jiu Jitsu program to anyone, no matter what age, gender or level of physical ability one may poses. The techniques taught in this style of self defense are geared toward the practitioner using minimal strength with optimum results. This style of Jiu-Jitsu is not only good for self defense purposes, but also can help the practitioner build stamina, strength and balance with the use of Randori, which is free sparing. Originally, I became interested in this style of Martial Arts with the hope of encouraging my 11 yr old son's interest and now, we both attend classes every week. The atmosphere in the school is both friendly and inviting with instructors and students alike always showing an eagerness to help out."

Mr. America & Mr. USA
"After Bodybuilding for 15 years and capturing 5 national titles also being a Mr. universe and world finalist I was looking to try something new. Gracie Jiu-Jitsu was it. At 5'8" and 260 pounds and prior martial arts training I felt confident in defending myself in most situations, I was wrong. Mike Casey and Gary Gli showed me how a 155 pound Gracie Jiu-Jitsu student could use my strength and size to gain an advantage in a fight situation. Boy was that a reality check! (remember that Mike?) Working with Mike & Gary has been great learning experience on all aspect of self defense. Gracie Jiu-Jitsu has given me the confidence to be able to walk down any street in NY and know full well that I can defend myself and my family in almost any fight situation. I have also formed great friendships and that's a combination that cant be beat. PS: Also that the 155 pound student who will remain nameless to protect my Ego, now has a much harder time with me."

"Mike Casey is that rarest of combinations - a highly skilled martial artist, a patient and understanding teacher, a good person. My girlfriend and I were honored to have the chance to learn from Mike, and give the highest possible recommendation to him and his self-defense school."
